I love Omelettes – but on busy mornings they’re a pain in the butt to put together. Sauteeing the filling, then cooking the eggs – lots of steps. I figured out a way to cut back on prep time, which cuts back on calories, and makes me more likely to eat a healthy protein-filled breakfast, […]
Recipes
I love recipes. I have a cookbook addiction and I probably get 6-7 cooking magazines every month. I love food, and I love great recipes. Here you’ll find some great options to put a quick meal on the table, or a great recipe for Sunday dinner or entertaining. I live in a fairly rural area, and our grocery stores don’t promote gourmand tastes. Simple ingredients, great and easy techniques, lead to fabulous meals. Give them a try and please feel free to leave a comment!
Honey Sweetened Cinnamon Scones
These are amazing – and fast to whip up. I found the recipe at MoneySavingMom.com – and made it almost verbatim, but I did it ALL in the Food Processor – which makes this amazingly easy. The dough itself is only sweetened with Honey – but they are topped with cinnamon sugar and a powdered sugar […]
Fast & Tasty BBQ Chicken Pizza
This is one of those recipes that’s not really a “recipe” – It’s so simple but so tasty! I love these fast meals in the summer that can be 100% done on the grill, because between baseball, softball, boy scouts and jobs – there’s not a lot of time for dinner! Change things up with […]
Vegetable Minestrone Soup

Baked Mac & Cheese with Toasted Garlic Breadcrumbs
I have been perfecting this recipe for years – there are other versions on this website and I think I’ve finally hit on one that is truly amazing. This uses aged cheddar and Gruyere to make a creamy and tasty cheese sauce – added to noodles – then topped with the toasted garlic breadcrumbs – […]
The Best Chocolate Frosting In The History Of The Universe
I’m not joking. Rich – VERY rich – it hardens a bit when it’s refrigerated – so you get that “magic shell” effect – just a bit – like a chocolate cake with an expensive ganache on it. I used Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Chips – but you could use regular semi-sweet, expensive Valhrona or ScharffenBerger […]
