Happy Fall, Y’all! We were lucky enough to take a family trip before school started and we took our daughter off to College. Something tells me this may just be the last trip we all take together for quite some time. Hopefully it’s not – but you just don’t know until you “Know.”
Before we hit the airport, we went to the Kenny Chesney Big Revival Tour. Maddie is a huge Kenny Chesney fan, so we got her Sandbar tickets for graduation. You can see how close we were in the photos. Todd and Aerik sat in the nosebleeds – Thanks for taking one for the team, guys 🙂
Sunday morning we flew out of Denver International early. We arrived in Portland at about 10:30 in the morning and
drove north in to Washington over to Astoria and down the coast. I absolutely LOVE the coast of the Pacific Northwest. The Oregon Coast is my spirit animal – I love it. It’s not hot, the scenery is breathtaking – the ocean is wonderful…… and I’m never tempted to swim in the extra-venti shark tank – because the water is FRIGID!
We’re pretty adamant about choosing vacation rentals for our trips. This time we stayed in a condo we rented from Beachfront Rentals in Lincoln City. It was great! Clean, spacious, right on Siletz Bay – with a great view.
We did all the things we did last time we were in Oregon. Aerik was 2, Maddie was 7. This trip we drove up and down the coast, walked on the beach, built bonfires on the beach, walked on the beach some more, went to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, ate amazingly fresh fish and dungeoness crab, rode obnoxious but fun ponies on the beach, fished and shopped. It was extremely fun, relaxing, bittersweet, and too short by half.
Here are a few of our photos. As much as I love to take photos of food – I’m not much of a family photographer, but this trip it felt like I took 500 more photos than I did. If you’ve never been to the coast – I highly recommend it.
Thank you for the mention and we hope to see you back with us in the future!
We’ll be back as much as we can – I absolutely adore Lincoln City. If you had more elk hunting I’d get the hubby to move there in a heartbeat!
