Dad’s Chili

Can’t believe I’ve not posted this recipe yet.  Daddy’s in town for a few weeks and I decided to make a pot of chili today.  I know the recipe by heart, but couldn’t believe I hadn’t posted it on the blog.  Chili is one of those things where everyone has their own version.  This is a good base – add and take away at will!

  • 1 lb. Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 Medium Onion Chopped
  • 1 14.5 oz can Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 15 oz Can Dark Red Kidney Beans
  • 2 15 oz Can Chili Beans in Sauce Kuner's Brand - see image
  • 1 32 ox Can Tomato Juice
  • 3 Tbsp Chili Powder


  1. Brown hamburger and onion in a large dutch oven - drain if necessary but lean beef is generally ok.
  2. Add in rest of ingredients and stir well - let simmer minimum of 2 hours.
  3. Serve with shredded cheese, sour cream and saltines.
  4. Enjoy.
